We all want that radiant smile.  A smile is a manifestation of how we feel.  When we are happy and joyful, we can't help but smile, and it can be more radiant if you have white and pearly teeth.  There are many teeth whitening products available in the market, however, most bleach your teeth by using chemicals.

The good news is, there are multiple natural ways can help maintain your pearly whites.  Here are some examples.
Do Not Brush Right After Eating
It may seem weird and contradictory, but it is not a good practice.  It is best to allow some time before brushing your teeth after meals.  When you are eating, your teeth are temporarily weakened by the sugar and acids in your mouth.  If you brush right after, it adds to your teeth's weakening. Allow enough time for your teeth to recover before brushing.  Around 30 minutes should do it.

Avoid Drinks That Stain Like Coffee and Tea
We all know how coffee and tea can stain our teeth.  Prolonged exposure will cause yellow to brownish stains that are difficult to remove.  However, there is another reason to avoid too much coffee and tea. They make teeth stickier which allow many food particles to stick on to it.  It makes it even more difficult to clean and if not clean well, may cause cavities and plaque.

Avoid Sugary Drinks
Sugar is the number one enemy of all dentists.  They are not good for your teeth. For sugary and fizzy drinks, it's not just the sugar but the acid.  Both contribute greatly to harming your teeth. Try drinking your soda or cola quicker instead of sipping on it over a longer period.  It would also be good to rinse your mouth with water after.

Stop Smoking
You have heard how smoking is bad for your health.  It does not only leave you with heart disease and lung disorders.  It also causes tooth decay, discoloration, and even bad breath. It can damage your teeth so bad that it is irreversible.  In some cases, not only will teeth turn yellow but can turn gray.

Caring for your teeth starts with the little things you do every day.  Proper hygiene and a little extra effort can make your teeth look white and your smile bright.  Don't forget your visit to the dentist to ensure proper care. Take care of your teeth more by getting insurance. At Berlin & Denys Insurance, we aim to make our client's life easier with policies that are tailored to their needs.
