You can look at it two ways: either to minimize your efforts or to make your life less complicated, the task of decluttering your entire house will never be an easy feat. In fact, it takes a huge effort and can actually be considered as a job. The foolproof way to manage this situation is to break the whole task into stages or steps. Five Tools for Easy Decluttering
There is absolutely no need for fancy tools in cleaning your home. All you need are five baskets or bins for these particular purposes:
Tidying Up Your Bathroom First, start with your medicine cabinet. Throw out products that are already expired such as medications, makeup and skincare products. Once you are done sorting them out, put all the remaining products back and store the things that are used often at eye level. Second, move towards the cabinet drawers and remove all the contents. Have a brief evaluation of what to toss out and what to keep. Put back the remaining things that you would want to use back in the drawers and make sure the top drawers contain those that are frequently used. Lastly, all those things that were not placed back in the drawers or cabinets should be carefully sorted out into the five baskets or bins. Make Your Bedroom Spic and Span Start off with making your bed. It would be difficult to visualize any progress if you are decluttering a bedroom with an unmade bed. Proceed to your nightstand or bedside table and remove anything that does not belong there and take them to the Put-Away basket. You can opt to throw out or recycle things that you no longer use, such as empty tissue boxes, pens that no longer work or dysfunctional charger cables. Apply the same method to your dressers and cabinets. Put attention on clothing that appears to be strewn. Clothes that may require folding or hanging goes to the Put-Away basket. If there are any risks of wrinkling, you may lay the clothes down on your bed. Fold and store things that are worth keeping, pull out those that are no longer worn and put them in the Donation Bin. The key solution is to begin in one room, space or focus on a particular component of a room (think about your cupboards in the kitchen), complete the task entirely before moving forward to declutter another space. This will help build up your self-esteem and confidence as you are able to see actual end-products of decluttering!
