Summer Tips on Beating The Heat

Your car goes through a lot. Rough road conditions can wear down your vehicle. However, it is not only during driving that your car experiences the elements. Even while it is parked, your car suffers a lot. If you leave your car in an open parking lot all day, the heat can build up. This heat makes your car difficult to ride once you get back. It can also make your car age faster. Here are some tips to help your car beat the heat.
Raise The Wipers
Raising the wipers will help the rubber keep its shape longer. The extreme heat can warp and deform your wipers quickly. Raising the wipers help delay this.

Turn The Wheel
Try turning the steering wheel to let the bottom face up when parked. This will keep the top part of your steering wheel in the shade. Not only do you keep it off direct sunlight, but it will also be easier to drive when your return since the top part is cooler to handle.

Use Sunscreen
During those hot days when the sun is up, use a car shade on your windshield. Not only does it help keep sunlight off, but it also helps protect your dashboard. In the same way, you may want to apply sunscreen on yourself too. Remember, the sun does go through your windows.

Open The Windows
Your car may be too hot to ride when you leave your parking space. To cool it quickly, open your windows. Let the cold air from your air conditioning in, and let the hot air escape through the windows. You will notice your car will get colder much faster.

Be Extra Conscious Of Your Car
Hot conditions take more out of your car. This is why it is essential to take particular attention to your car. The heat can evaporate your engine fluids faster. Make sure you have the right levels especially for your coolant. You would not want your car to overheat.

The same is true for your tires. Blown out tires are more common during hot days. This is especially true if your tire is underinflated. Make sure your car tires are always inflated properly and are in excellent condition.

Conclusion
Extreme conditions can take a toll on your car. Make sure you take these extra steps to keep you safe. As risks get greater, your protection must keep up. At Berlin & Denys Insurance, we do our best in making sure that our clients are well-protected with affordable and comprehensive policies. It got me when you mentioned that it is important to keep the right levels of fluids in our cars to avoid them overheating. This is helpful because my husband and I will be going on a road trip with our friends next week. With this, we will also find a shop tomorrow morning that can install a reverse camera and GPS systems within two hours.
