As residential areas expand more into new land, it is inevitable to see an increase in interactions with wild animals. Since wild animals are unpredictable and not used to human interaction, this can be dangerous. When protecting your property against wildlife, the most common precautions done are for your home. Often forgotten is to protect your vehicle. Your car can be a target for wild animals too. Here are some tips to help you protect your cars.
Reduce The Attraction To Your Car
When I say do not make your car attractive, I do not mean messing up the paint job of your car. Simply put, remove anything that will attract wild animals to your vehicle. Do not park near garbage bins, bird feeders, piles of leaf or firewood, or any food source. All of these items attract different animals for habitat or food. Steer away from these items.

One of the best options for parking is inside your garage. Not only does it help prevent theft and weather damage, but it also helps prevent wildlife from getting in. If you do not own a garage, try changing the position of your parking and the placement of your car. This can help any habitual visits from animals.

Keep It Clean
Make sure your car is always clean. Both on the inside and out. Not only can food attract animals but so too are the different kinds of dirt your car picks up too. Animal droppings like birds' not only damage your car but may attract predators those birds are prey to. Also, it is best to make sure your car is always locked and sealed. All doors and windows should not be left open.

Take Note Of Markings
If you find scratches and other markings on your car, you may want to consult with a wildlife specialist. If you find any remnants of animals like footprints, fur, or anything similar, they can help identify the threat. Proper identification means a better and more appropriate protection against the threat. Knowing what you are dealing with can help keep you safer and protect your car better.

Conclusion
Of course, all the techniques shown above can only help reduce the risk of animal interaction. Since we are dealing with a very unpredictable variable in wildlife, predicting anything is difficult. This is why having the right coverage is crucial to protecting your car.
